MAS ANECDOTAS DE DIRE STRAITS

Según dicen el guitarrista Hal lindes abandono la banda en mitad de la grabacion de " brothers in arms" algo q no se sabe a ciencia cierta......

Ela primera grabacion del grupo no fue el disco " dire Straits" si no el disco colectivo "Hope and Anchor front row festival live" de 1977 donde tocaron " Eastbound train".

 Las giras de 1985 con 3 millones de asistentes y la de 1991 con tres  millones y medio están entre las más exitosas de la historia.

   El batería terry Williams tras acabar su actuación en el live aid estaban tan mareado del calor y los focos q vomito ...encima de los estuches de guitarra de Bryan May.

    Dylan dijo de Knopfler q tocaba como los angeles.

 knopfler cedió un tanto por ciento de las ventas de sus discos a los movimientos anti aparheid de Sudafrica

   David Knopfler dejo el grupo tras una bronca inmensa con Mark grabando " Romeo and Juliet",

  Terry williams dirige un pub en Swansea  y dejo la música

 The straits la banda tributo del teclista Alan Clark actuó este verano en Francia ante 15 mil personas.

KNOPFLER Y DYLAN INICIAN SU GIRA AMERICANA

Asi es el 12 Octubre Dylan y knopfler iniciaron su gira en Vancouver ( Canadá) q les llevara por varias ciudades de USA , en total Knopfler dara 71 conciertos alrededor del mundo presentando su  ultimo disco.......La colaboración entre Knopfler y dylan viene de lejos  Knopfler toco en tres discos del Americano y realizo una gira Europea el año pasado con el judío de mines sota, el video es de Esa gira..... Por otro lado el disco De Knopfler estaba situado asi en las listas al poco de salir,,, como se ve sigue teniendo exito

MAS SOBRE DISCO KNOPFLER

Nota de prensa Universal Records: Mark Knopfler - Privateering Mark Knopfler, recientemente galardonado con el mayor reconocimiento a la composición del Reino Unido, el galardón a “Toda Una Carrera” recibido en la presente edición de los Premios Ivor Novello, editará su octavo álbum en solitario, PRIVATEERING, el 4 de Septiembre del 2012.




Este es el primer disco doble del artista que incluye en su integridad, temas originales. Las canciones contienen un amplio abanico de ubicaciones y personalidades de ambos lados del Atlántico abarcando diferentes tipos de géneros, entre los que se incluyen varios nuevos blues originales. PRIVATEERING es una colección de conmovedoras y sentidas composiciones interpretadas con maestría por una banda de grandes músicos de talla internacional.



Además de los componentes que vienen integrando la banda incondicional de Knopfler, han participado en el proyecto invitados excepcionales entre los que se hayan Kim Wilson (harmónica) de los Fabulous Thunderbirds, Tim O'Brien (mandolina), la cantante Ruth Moody de The Wailin' Jennys, Paul Franklin (guitarra steel con pedal) y Phil Cunningham de Escocia (acordeón).



Veinte temas componen el disco y todos ellos se grabaron en el estudio londinense del artista British Grove con los siguientes músicos: Richard Bennett (guitarra), Jim Cox (piano) Guy Fletcher (teclado), John McCusker (violín), Mike McGoldrick (silbato y flauta), Glenn Worf (bajo) e Ian Thomas (batería). Knopfler fue asistido por los co-productores Guy Fletcher y Chuck Ainlay.



Mark Knopfler es uno de los artistas con mayor éxito de público y crítica de la historia. Ha vendido más de 135 millones de álbumes y ha sido reconocido con innumerables premios y galardones, entre ellos su inclusión en la Excelentísima Orden del Imperio Británico (OBE) y varios Grammy.
